The Referee - Limited Edition of 100 prints

This image was selected as the Grand Prize winner in Cowboys & Indians 2006 National Photo Contest. See "Press". The National Elk Refuge just outside Jackson, Wyoming is a wonderful place to observe elk. As a large horse drawn sleigh carried me and other curious onlookers through the fields, we saw a number of male elk practicing for battle. In this photo, the elk in the background appears to be acting as a referee in the fighting of the other two elk. All he needs is a whistle.

Brown Eyed Girl - Limited Edition of 100 prints

Finding bison in Yellowstone is not a difficult task. I was driving Yellowstone’s roads and saw some bison by the side of the road grazing and stopped to take a look. Listening to Van Morrison at the time, I knew immediately that I needed to get this picture, since I knew I had a perfect name for the image of this magnificent creature.

Bison in Winter - Limited Edition of 100 prints

These two bison were crossing a ridge just above a steaming volcanic pool and seemed almost mystical in the distance. I photographed this on a very cold morning on a snowmobile tour in Yellowstone.

We found a familyof big horn sheep in a wash while hiking in Capitol Reef. This big male posed nicely for a few seconds before bounding uphill.
