Lighting the Fall Color - Limited Edition of 100 prints
We had stopped at a field with a nice colorful tree line cutting across it. The composition was wonderful, but the color was too subdued because of the cloud cover at first. But after a while, a broad sunbeam poked through the clouds and lit up the trees.

Proof that the Great Smoky Mountains are aptly named. The mountains in the distance simply turned blue with haze as the sun descended, creating an almost painterly effect.

Cades CoveCabin - Limited Edition of 100 prints
The so-called coves in Smoky Mountain National Park denote regions, rather than areas next to water. There were a number of old structures in Cades Cove, but this old cabin, set below the colorful trees, was my favorite.

We were driving along a field as a new cell of the storm moved in. Just before the storm hit, we stopped at this magnificent tree standing alone against the dark and foreboding background.

This stream runs by a beautiful old church. The sun on the church made it difficult to photograph, but the tree cover provided a beautifully lit setting to photograph the stream.
Fall Color in Fog - Limited Edition of 100 prints
The fog could not diminish the richness of the fall color as a storm moved through. Instead, it created almost a sense of mystery as the trees tried to show themselves through the mist.
Behind Grotto Falls - Limited Edition of 100 prints
These falls are about a 3 mile hike from the trailhead. It is an easy hike, but the rain that day made the terrain pretty slippery. I took this shot from behind the falls, looking through to the fall color on the other side. It was a stunning vantage point.

This waterfall is about a 3 mile hike from the trailhead and a wonderfully serene place to bring a picnic.. It is an easy hike, but it was raining the day we did the hike, so footing on the trail was difficult. This image was captured as we came up the trail to the falls.
Tremont Creek Flow - Limited Edition of 100 prints
The water streaming over this huge boulder in the stream was one of the many interesting photo opportunities we found. It took while for the wind to die down enough to keep the bright leaves in focus while still getting the flow of the stream over the rock. I hope youll agree it was worth the wait.
Meigs Falls - Limited Edition of 100 prints
We were leaving the park at the end of our trip and spied this waterfall across a diversion ditch at the side of the road. We had just enough light to make long exposures work with the colorful detail in the trees and the flow of the water. I took one picture of the falls in their full context of the fall color and the close-up, as the wind started blowing the leaves.
