The Anasazi ruins in Mesa Verde are some of the best I have seen. You can almost imagine the people living in these small communities beneath the cliffs. The Cliff Palace was one of the most well-preserved we encountered.

Mesa Verde Fall Color - Limited Edition of 100 prints

The drive into Mesa Verde winds through hills of scrub oak. As we made our way up the canyon, the colors of the oak intensified and reminded us of a quilt. We stopped to take in the beauty of our surroundings, and soon the tripods and cameras followed.
