Wheel of Fortune - Limited Edition of 100 prints

Bodie was a mining town. This wheel sits next to a tower where minerals were processed. The sheer volume of the wheel caught my eye. With no water in sight, what would turn this behemoth? Then I noticed the old deserted cabins through the spokes, which gave some scale to the wheel.

Bodie Window Reflection - Limited Edition of 100 prints

This image was taken outside the general store in the ghost town of Bodie, near Bishop, California. Ghost towns have always had a fascination for me, not so much for the rise and fall of the economics (usually gold) that were responsible for the rise and fall of the town, but rather for the logistics of how all the things needed for the economy to run could regularly get to some place out in the middle of nowhere.
