Wildflowers on Mt. Tallac Trail - Limited Edition of 100 prints

Summer in Desolation Wilderness (near Lake Tahoe) is a wonderful time for beautiful vistas and mountain wildflowers. These Indian Paintbrush and Lupine were blooming on a trail going from Gilmore Lake to Mt. Tallac (about 10,000 feet) on a mid-July hike I took with a friend. I was happy to take a short rest break on our climb and enjoy the wildflowers.

Sunrise at Mono Lake - Limited Edition of 100 prints

Mono Lake, on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Northern California, has been a popular photographic spot. Tufa formations around the shore form shallow islands creating interesting photographic opportunities. Mono Lake also offers dramatic sunrises.

Mirror Lake - Limited Edition of 100 prints

Mirror Lake is disappearing. There is not much left of it in the summer. Nonetheless, in winter one can find enough water to create interesting reflections. There was a large rock in the middle of the lake, covered in snow. The reflection of the rock and snow in the shallow water caught my eye as we hiked around the lake.

Glen Alpine Falls in Spring - Limited Edition of 100 prints

Located about a half mile from the end of Fallen Leaf Lake, these falls carry water from the Desolation Wilderness. Over the Memorial Day weekend, when I took this picture, the roar of the falls was so loud, you had to shout to be heard. The spray — backlit by the afternoon sun — created a dramatic effect.

Sunset on El Capitan - Limited Edition of 100 prints

Yosemite provides the photographer with endless opportunities. It is somewhat daunting to photograph here because you cannot help but recall the amazing work done in Yosemite by great photographers such as Ansel Adams. The beauty of El Capitan is in its many moods and colors at dawn and dusk. This image reflects the golden glow of the sun on El Capitan at the end of the day

Crystal Range Panoramic - Limited Edition of 100 prints

The Crystal Range is the glacial cirque, where the glaciers formed and carved out the lakes and morrains around Lake Tahoe. Driving up to Lake Tahoe, you can see the back of the range, especially Pyramid Peak as you leave Sacramento. This picture was stitched together from about six images shot on a backpacking trip in mid-summer. Lake Aloha, in the foreground, is at an altitude of about 8,200 feet.
